Aleš Stuchlý is a film critic, cultural publicist, moderator, dramaturge and, since March 2023, also a creative producer and head of the Music Creative Group at Czech Radio. He has been a prominent figure in the film criticism magazine Čelisti for thirteen years. He studied film science at Charles University, started in the editorial offices of A2 and Cinepur, published a number of expert and popular texts on film and music in His Voice, Týden and Respekt magazines, and now his opinions can be heard mainly on Radio Wave. He has worked for several years as an acquisition specialist in film distribution (Film Europe, Artcam), and has extensively cooperated with the Be2Can Film Festival, European Film Days and the Karlovy Vary IFF. He is currently in his fifth year of organising his own talkshow evenings with film screenings at the Edison cinema in Prague called Mental Hygiene.
