Andrea Culková is a documentary filmmaker whose committed documentary work deals mainly with current topics and whose films have strong visual and essayistic elements. Her documentary about the life of eighty-five-year-old artist Lisa Forell - Without Borders won the Best Czech Popular Science Documentary Award at the 45th AFO Olomouc. Her personal film Sugar Blues, in which she processed her experience with gestational diabetes, was screened at the prestigious CPH:DOX festivals in Copenhagen and IDFA in Amsterdam. She is currently working on the documentary series Love&Rage, whose opening film from 2020, An Accident of Women, openly explores the emotions that members of the Extinction Rebellion climate movement feel at the prospect of impending climate disruption.
