Anthea Oestreicher is an interdisciplinary designer and art researcher. She approaches design as a means of exploring the interaction between systems and living organisms. Her work ranges from design and cultural studies to biology, emphasizing the interconnectedness of humans with more-than-human entities, both organic and inorganic. Through sympoetic juxtapositions materialized in visual and performance art, she seeks to promote critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the complex web of life in which we all participate. Most recently, she has focused on the field of phytoplankton, exploring its integral role in a broader ecological and anthropogenic context.
