Jakub Hruška works as a natural scientist at the Czech Geological Survey and the Institute of Global Change Research of the Czech Academy of Sciences. He deals with various aspects of forest and agricultural landscape ecology in the context of air pollution and climate change. He is also a forest owner in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Since the 1990s, he has been involved in the preparation of a number of government documents concerning changes in forest management. He is also a member of the Councils of three national parks – Šumava, Krkonoše and Podyjí.
