His research interests include the economics of the film industry and the sociology of film. He studied film science and English philology at Palacký University in Olomouc, where he subsequently gained a PhD in Theory and History of Literature, Theatre and Film. In 2018, he completed a course in film distribution and film marketing at the London Film School in the UK. He is a member of the Czech Society for Film Studies, the European Network for Cinema and Media Studies and the European Sociological Association. He currently works at the Department of Arts Management at the University of Economics, Prague.
