Jaroslav Kyša is an artist whose work centres on materials, objects, and their physical properties. He employs the tools of physics, often creating works based on paradoxes and illogical situations. He has completed residencies in New York, Leipzig, and Slovenia, and was the recipient of the 2011 Szpilman Award. In 2017 and 2022, he won the main prize of the NOVUM Foundation, which recognizes international impact and originality. He studied at the Faculty of Arts of the Technical University in Košice and currently serves as an assistant professor at the Studio of Spatial Communications + Department of Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava.
