Markéta Švarcová is a sociologist working at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences. She focuses on the issue of gender inequalities on the labour market, especially in the area of entrepreneurship. She has published a monograph entitled Businesswomen?, which deals with the precarious position of women entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic. She is a member of the COST Platform Work Inclusion Living Lab (P-WILL), where she works on the topic of the platform economy. She is the co-author of the podcast series Platforms on the Edge. She teaches a course on Gender in the Czech Republic and Europe at CIEE Prague.
