Michal Mitro studied psychology and sociology and focuses his work on the nuances of everyday life and hyperobjects on a planetary scale. In his artistic practice, he trans-laterates sociological imagination (Ch. W. Mills) into crafted sculptural environments with elements of sound, light and electricity. The themes he gravitates towards explore the relationships between the human and the more-than-human world and the presumed friction between the natural and the artificial. Mitro presents both affirming and unsettling narratives to shape viable futures in which humans would like to live. He is also the curator of the ssesi (a safe space for exploring ideas) program in Brno and a certified electrician working with off-grid solar systems.
