Ondřej Soukup is a journalist and a leading Czech expert on post-Soviet space. As a teenager, he went with his parents to the Soviet Union in the mid-1980s, which later – despite his original plans – became his destiny. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, he criss-crossed this vast area, and for several years was the Moscow correspondent for Hospodářské noviny. He also worked for Free Europe, the Institute of International Relations and People in Need. Since April 2023, he has been working in the foreign editorial office of Czech Radio.
