Thorsten Peetz is a sociologist working on valuation processes, sociology of organisations, culture and media. He studied social sciences at the University of Würzburg, Humboldt University in Berlin and The Newschool for Social Research in New York. He is currently a temporary professor of sociological theory at the University of Bamberg, Germany. His current empirical research focuses on the digitization of intimate valuation in online dating and on processes of canonization in the Roman Catholic Church.
