He comes from Znojmo in South Moravia, but he has considered the Vysočina Region his second home for many years. He studied Special Education at Charles University in Prague. Until 2003, he was engaged in a private business, and following an offer to work for social services he became a project manager and deputy director of Jihlava Regional Charity. In the years 2014 to 2019 he worked as a director of the Home for the Elderly in Velké Meziříčí. Since 2006, he has been a representative of the statutory town of Jihlava, and in 2020 he was elected Governor of the Vysočina Region.
