Marie Hajek Salomonová studied neuroscience at the University of Nottingham. She founded and ran the non-profit organisation Don't Let Your Soul Out and is now chair of its board of directors. She is involved in advocacy work in the field of mental health and wellbeing in relation to  public administration and the general public. Her topics include prevention, early intervention, access to services and respect for human rights in the mental health care system. She is a member of the National Council for Mental Health.
